Wayne Rouse - President

Wayne Rouse is retired from Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington, DC where he spent 34 years in various positions in engineering, computers, purchasing, stores and energy management. Wayne lived in Maryland most of his life and moved to Stafford, Virginia with his wife Cheryl in August of 2004.

Wayne served 8 years as an active member of Marine Corp Air Reserve Squadron VMA-321 and was an electronics technician based at the Naval Air Facility at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland during the 1960's.

Wayne's interest in genealogy stems back to 1980. His paternal G-G-Grandfather was one John Duffey, a silversmith who made the trowel, square and triangle which was used by President George Washington in a Masonic ceremony to lay the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol. These implements are on display in the Masonic Temple in Alexandria, Virginia. In addition, John Duffey's grandson, Major George Duffey also a silversmith, served as a Confederate quartermaster and made a pair of silver spurs for General Robert E. Lee, in the field during the Civil War. These spurs survive to this day and are the property of Washington and Lee University in Stanton, Virginia.

In addition to being an active member of the SAR, Wayne is also a member of Frank P. Moncure Masonic Lodge #279 in Stafford.

Wayne's Revolutionary War ancestor is John Gibbs who was a soldier in the North Carolina militia and became one of first Methodist ministers in western North Carolina.
