Charles F. "Chuck" Bragg, PhD - Former Registrar General Chuck Bragg is a former elementary and secondary school teacher, school administrator and superintendant. For the past 17 years, he has been involved in the world-wide effort to eradicate polio, with trips to India and Ethiopia to inoculate children. Chuck served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. His involvement in the Sons of the American Revolution has been long and varied. Prior to his election as Registrar General in 2003, Chuck served as President of the Indiana Society, Vice President General of the Central District, and chairman or member of the following committees: Membership, Library Task Force, Library Fund Drive, Nominating, Long Range Planning, Genealogy, Americanism, Library, George Washington Endowment Fund Board Fund Raising and the Census Project. Chuck's SAR medals and awards include: The Minuteman Award, War Service Medal (Vietnam era), Patriot Medal, Distinguished Service (2), Meritorious Service (2), Good Citizenship (Silver), Florence Kendall (2), Liberty Medal (11), George Washington Bicentennial Medal, Council of State Presidents (Silver), 12 Certificates of Appreciation, and he is a George Washington Fellow. Chuck descends from several patriot ancestors, but lists Martin Wenger, a member of the Pennsylvania Militia as his primary qualifying ancestor. Others include Michael Frantz (PA); John Nicholas Garst (PA); Balser Lybrook (VA); Mathias Miller (PA & VA); John Bowman (VA); Hezekiah Philips (VA) and Jacob Graves (PA). | ||
